André Salmon (+1969) — French poet and part of the Montparnasse circle. His work La vie passionnée de Modigliani is in large part responsible for the myth. He published memoirs of that time (more novels than the real artist). They had a cool friendship that Salmon later converted into a life’s work. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

Jeanne Modigliani (+1984) — Daughter of Jeanne and Amedeo. Raised by the family in Livorno. Later became an art historian. First collaborated with Lanthemann. In 1983 founder of the Archives Légales Modigliani. Her work is as full of interest as it is full of doubts. The relation with Christian Parisot was at first excellent and during the last months not a good one. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

Werner Schmalenbach (+2010) — German art historian, museum director and connoisseur. Mere recompilation of others with a few additions; his work on Modigliani was just one more. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

Jacques Lipchitz (+1973) — Lithuanian sculptor, friend and model of Modigliani. Mere recollection. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

William Fifield (+1987) — American biographer. Collaborated with Jeanne. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

Moïse Kisling (+1953) — Friend and model of Modigliani. Mere recollection with some strong doubts. In interviews said he made fakes and sold them using his main dealer Zborowski. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

Lunia Czechowska — Friend and model of Modigliani. Ex-lover in some biographies, just a friend in others. She was a guest at the Zborowski house while her husband was in the war. Main collaborator to Ceroni. She gave expertises in her lifetime that today are not even mentioned. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.

Paulette Jourdain — Friend and model of Modigliani. Ex-maid/lover of Zborowski and finally she inherited the gallery. She gave expertises in her lifetime that today are not even mentioned, or are even hidden. No longer cited as an authority in the principal auction rooms.
