marc Restellini >his expert opinions:

Check his future catalogue raisonné here

  • He has not done any kind of presentations since he performed the bluff of the exhibition at the Luxembourg Museum, he seems to have learned his lesson.

  • So he prefers to do things directly at the auctions... (or better directly to owners, using the wilds letterhead)

  • I can not inform on how many paintings he has said "yes" about to private owners or galleries, I can just review the public auctions or his publications ( because I assume he is not going to include in his publications or exhibits a non pristine work).

  • Here is a brief list of the one at auctions:   to see the rest (or part of it) go to see his future catalogue raisonné LINK while at Wildenstein's, I guess now with the BRAND NEW restellini Institut all is going to change...

PLEASE NOTE:

I DO NOT SAY THAT ANY OF THESE ARTWORKS ARE FAKES OR ORIGINALS, I JUST SHOW THEM AS AN EXAMPLE OF HIS INVESTIGATIONS, WORKS, AND DISCOVERIES.

I AM NOT AUTHORIZED TO DO THIS KIND OF APPRECIATION.

BONHAMS

Jeune fille aux cheveux noirs
circa 1918-1919
Oil on canvas
65 x 49.4 cm

Bonhams / London 7-Feb-2012 Sale 19954 -Lot 10 -
Estimate: US$ 1,100,000 - 1,600,000

This work will be included in the forthcoming Modigliani Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre peint being prepared by Monsieur Marc Restellini under the sponsorship of the Wildenstein Institute.

Sold for 1,311,871. USD inclusive Buyer's Premium
Real auction price (no buyer's premium): 1,112,749 USD

This means it didn't even get the estimated high price (only one bid), a similar work (in size) in Ceroni gets a minimum of 5 million USD.
The market has "amortized" or "devaluated" his opinion as a Modigliani expert.  (probably the future of his catalogue is zero...)

So with this in mind we must assume that the option of seeing Restellini as the main possible heir to Ceroni is now impossible...

The final result is "The market doesn't trust him."  Evil comments I have received say that the buyer is part of the support group in the Wildenstein net, in a desperate attempt to avoid a bought-in result. I prefer to remain naive and do not give them credit.
Using one of his metaphorical titles given to Modigliani, he was like "a meteor" (unfortunately now bordering pre crash in Siberia).

As you can see there are many things for sale.

He even worked for Sotheby's & Christie's at first, but now he only works for Bonham's, really don't know why?

The only thing I know for sure is that a work based on his opinion has never reached the price of a similar one in Ceroni...
